The 3rd Three-Jewel Refuge Ceremony 2026 - Hoang Phap Pagoda.

After the registration and receiving their ID badge, all participants came to the dharma hall to learn the right demeanor of a Buddhist, such as the manner of clasping their hands, greeting, prostrating, and walking in reciting the Buddha name.
Next, Venerable Thích Tâm Dược, a monk of Hoang Phap Pagoda, delivered a Dharma talk entitled '8 Great Benefits of Taking the Three Refuges and Five Precepts in the afternoon. Thanks to this, the followers gained a clear understanding of the Three Jewels, repentance, their Dharma names, and the significance of both their Preceptor and the teacher they rely on before officially becoming genuine Buddhists.
After a speech respectfully inviting the monks to perform the ritual, the ceremony transmitting Three Refuges- Five Precepts took place in a solemn atmosphere of the Sangha witness at 2:00 p.m. Then, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Truong explained the purpose of the repentance rite and great benefits of taking Three refuges - Five Precepts. Then, he emphasized this is a path of peace, guiding practitioners toward a noble life, away from the wickedness of five-defilement life.
Refugging in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha in the Three-Jewel, practitioners will be guided to the methods to escape the suffering and distress of this life. Thanks to the receiving Three-Refuges and Five-Precepts, five ethical principles of a true Buddhist — refraining from killing, stealing, adultery, lying, and consuming alcohol or intoxicating substances — will help practitioners be more reserved and cautious in every thought, word, and action.
The ceremony concluded with the joy of the attendees. Before leaving the temple, all Buddhists received Certificates of Refuge and dharma book gifts from the Organizers.
